jeff gladney cause of death reason

The Arizona Cardinals announced on Monday that cornerback Jeff Gladney died in a car crash on Monday morning.

Gladney was 25.

2:30 a.m. was the time of the crash in Dallas. In addition to the driver, a female passenger died in the collision, according to the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

We are investigating the cause of the accident.

The Cardinals said in a statement that they are tragically saddened to hear of Jeff Gladney’s passing. We extend our sympathies to his family, friends, and anyone else who is experiencing grief at this time.

According to the team, Gladney signed with the Cardinals in March and is expected to play a significant role on defense this year.

Gladney played for Texas Christian University before the Minnesota Vikings selected him as their first-round draft pick in 2020. The Cardinals signed him shortly before the trial for a felony assault charge, which he was acquitted of in March. He was thus not cleared to play that season.

As the Vikings said in a statement, they were saddened by the tragic death of Jeff Gladney. It is our deepest condolences to his family and friends, as well as the Arizona Cardinals organization and Jeff’s current and former teammates and coaches who are grieving his loss.

TCU athletic director Jerry Donati said that TCU athletics, especially the football program, were devastated to learn of Jeff Gladney’s passing. While playing in the NFL, Jeff kept close ties to TCU after earning his degree. His alma mater meant the world to him. Our young son proudly accompanied him this year at our spring practices and game. All of us in the community will miss him.
